Leading Education

At least 9 in 10 Ugandans who have completed any form of education are unemployed. Saint Bahkita’s aims to provide a quality education so that all of its graduates are able to find a job or start their own business among graduation. The St. Bahkitas curriculum currently includes tailoring, ICT (computer applications), agriculture, hospitality, catering, and hairdressing. With innovations in farming and energy, additional study areas could be added to this curriculum.

Challenge

The challenge in providing a quality of education lies in the teachers and administration of the school. It is hard to find teachers that are both well versed in their area and able to effectively convey the information they know. Additionally, St. Bahkita’s would like to form a school board and build community connections to help with job placement after graduation.
